We’re now a full week past the close of the 2017 SHOT Show and we’re still seeing a wide variety of postings on social media and receiving messages at headquarters telling us that this was perhaps the best SHOT Show exhibitors, buyers and media have ever experienced. That certainly indicates we’re doing a lot of things right—and gives us that much more incentive to improve upon that with next year’s show—but there’s one important facet of this year’s success that needs acknowledgement.
All of us attending the show, and especially those of us who work for NSSF, owe our sponsors a huge round of applause and many thanks for their tremendous support this year.
Ram Truck stepped up as the exclusive truck sponsor of the show, further cementing its commitment to hunters and shooters in the minds of everyone in attendance, while the U.S. Concealed Carry Association took on sponsoring the New Product Center, which highlighted more products than ever before, and hosting a well-attended press breakfast there.
Daniel Defense once again sponsored the SHOT Show Mobile App, and you had to be staying at a hotel in Reno if you didn’t notice your hotel key cards also bore the its logo and messaging. Daniel Defense was, literally, everywhere.
The Press Room this year benefitted from Carhartt’s sponsorship and a special “Pub Talk” press conference the company held, with dozens of media members coming away with a greater appreciation of the company’s long history and its undeniable connection to outdoorsmen and women everywhere. And just down the hall, the NSSF Members Lounge once again had GunBroker.com to thank for the many amenities afforded our members there during the show. Aguila Ammunition, Brownells and Vista Outdoors were also prominent sponsors throughout the show venue.
Smith & Wesson was once again a prominent industry supporter this year, repeating its Platinum sponsorship of the annual SHOT Show University. This was the fifth year in a row Smith & Wesson has sponsored this important educational forum for retailers and range owners.
The 3rd Annual NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic received huge industry support led by Smith & Wesson’s Silver sponsorship, with Geissele Automatics, Glock, Humboldt Merchant Services, SIG Sauer, Taurus and Winchester Ammunition all joining as Bronze-level sponsors to help raise more than $70,000 for the industry’s veterans charity.
There are dozens of other companies, big and small, that supported the many events taking place throughout SHOT Week, so many that this post would run far too long for practical purposes. Every one of them deserves our sincere thanks. NSSF cannot fulfill its mission of promoting, protecting and preserving hunting and the shooting sports without the SHOT Show, and we cannot put on a successful SHOT Show without these many dedicated sponsors. We appreciate each and every one of you and all you do for our industry. Together, we’re looking forward to a positive, successful year.
