Lost at SHOT Show

It happens. People get separated from their belongings at trade shows—especially a trade show as large as SHOT Show.

And so it was the case for one Collin Stephens. Somewhere along the line while he was on the show floor, Collin lost what is perhaps his most prized possession—his wedding ring.

The lost ring was reported to ConvExx’s Customer Service Department at the show, a description given. But despite a well-networked system of notifications to cleaning crew, security personnel and many others, no one found the ring. And then the phone rang after the show.

Seems another attendee had found a ring. Already back at his home in Oregon, he’d called us to see if anyone was missing one. He gave a description and when asked, agreed to send the ring to us—he even insured it! When it arrived back in Las Vegas, our folks matched it to the description given by Collin, and when we sent him a picture of it we heard the confirmation we were waiting for, “That’s it!”

“I have to say that in 35 years of show management we have occasionally received diamond earrings and rings found in restrooms, but never has someone taken the time to send an item back once they’d returned home,” said ConvExx’s Susan Schwartz.

We reached out to Mr. Stephens to hear how he felt after being reunited with his ring. He told us, “I am still amazed at the circumstances, and once again cannot thank you and your people enough for helping me when I was certain all hope was lost. This is a story I will remember for the rest of my life, with all the blessings that were involved.”

“Makes you feel good, doesn’t it?” Susan said.

Yes it does, Susan, yes it does indeed.
